Robert W. Davis, 96, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 17, 2018 with his loving daughter by his side. He was known by his family and friends, simply as "Pop". Born in 1921, the son of the late Michael and Mae Davis, he was raised in Chester, PA, and attended Chester High School.
Robert was a WWII veteran who served as a tail gunner in the U.S. Navy's Aviation Division. He was a lifetime member of The West End Boat Club, a member of the American Power Boat Association (APBA), and an avid powerboat racer for almost three decades. After his retirement from Sun Oil, he enjoyed travelling on road trip adventures, throughout the United States, with his wife Marie. He loved spending time with his family and watching TV. Pop's quick-witted humor and laughter, will be dearly missed by all.
He was predeceased in 1990 by his beloved wife of 47 years Marie Davis; he was also predeceased by his seven siblings. Robert is survived by his daughter Linda Davis; His grandson Brian (Nina) Wible; and his great-grandchildren, Adam and Luke Wible. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Thursday, May 24, 2018, from 10:00-11:15 am at the Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA 19014. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Thursday, May 24, 2018, at 11:30 am at the Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. BURIAL: Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
