Obituary

Robert J. "Crow" Hatlan, age 74, passed away on May 1, 2026. Robert was a lifelong resident of Aston, PA. He grew up in Aston and graduated from Sun Valley High School. He then proudly served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Alaska, before returning home to Aston. Robert worked as a welder at Metro Machine Corp in the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, where he remained until his retirement. Robert had a wide range of interests and was always happiest when working with his hands or spending time outdoors. He had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and classic cars, enjoying both riding and attending local shows. As a skilled welder, he took pride in building and fixing things, often applying those same skills to projects at home. He enjoyed cooking and took particular pride in his homemade wine, which he often shared with family and friends. Robert also found peace in gardening and spending time outside. Most of all, Robert cherished time spent with his family and friends.

He was the son of the late John and Angela (née Gondek) Hatlan and the brother of the late Gary Hatlan, Sandra Varano, and John Hatlan.

He is survived by his life partner, Sandy Howard; his daughter, Debra White; his stepdaughter, Laura Brooks (Joe); and his grandchildren, Zoey and Lola White, and Nathan Brooks.
