Robert J. "Bob" Smith, age 80, passed away July 26, 2022 at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media. A life long Delaware County resident Bob was raised in Drexel Hill and was a 1960 graduate of Upper Darby High School. He has lived in Media, Concord Township and most recently Upper Chichester. He has been a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 5 for more then 40 years, retiring in 2002. Bob also enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, his dog Buddy, and the special time he spent with his family and friends. Bob was also a member of St. John Fisher Church, Boothwyn. SURVIVORS: His wife of 61 years Ruth Fricker Smith, his children Robert J. Smith Jr. (Anita) and Christina Fitzpatrick (Carl), his grandson Michael Smith, and his sisters Marie Rice and Joan Fiordiomondo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. VISITATION: Thursday August 11, 2022 from 9:30-10:15am at St. John Fisher Church, 4225 Chichester Ave. Boothwyn. FUNERAL MASS: Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 10:30am at the church. BURIAL: Private.
