Obituary

Robert Whitmore, of Aston, PA, passed away on August 19, 2018 at the age of 91 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Taneytown, MD and raised in Media, PA, attending Media High School. He was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. Robert proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He is a 67 year Mason and a proud member of George Bartrum-Paul Sand Lodge # 298.

After his return home from the war, he worked for Ford Motor Company as a foreman. He then owned a gas station before working at Philadelphia Electronic Company, retiring after 30 years. Robert's love in life was his family and doing for others.

Robert was predeceased by his wife Shirley (McCracken) Whitmore, parents Truman and Dollyne Whitmore, brothers Revelle and Richard Whitmore, sisters June Picciana, Joan Madigan, and Mary Jane Schork.

SURVIVORS: his daughter: Shirley (Whitmore) Hoops; grandson: Stephen Hoops (Dale); granddaughter: Jaimie Nichols (Dwight); brother: Truman Whitmore (Bernice); great grandchildren: Katelyn, Joshua, Zachary, and Abigail; and grand dogs: Sky, Moose, and Ivy.

VISITATION: Thursday from 6:00-8:00 pm and Friday from 10:00-11:15 am at the Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA. FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday at 11:30 am at the Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. BURIAL: The Cemetery at Calvary, Aston, PA.
