Rosemarie Manko (nee Esser), age 98, passed away peacefully at her home in Aston on August 17, 2021. Rosemarie was born in Limburg an der Lahn, Germany and moved to the United States in 1948, when she was 25 years old. Before moving to the United States Rosemarie studied History and Journalism at Bonn University in Germany as well as the University of Vienna in Austria. Rosemarie lived in Chester and Trainer PA before settling down in Aston in 1950. In her pass time she enjoyed teaching adults and children German, singing, gardening, sewing, and cooking. She was a devoted and loving mother to her seven children. In her later years she enjoyed travelling to Germany to rediscover and explore her childhood homeland. Rosemarie was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church and Choir since 1958. She was also a long-time member of the Archdiocesan Choir of the Cathedral of SS Peter and Paul, Philadelphia. She was the daughter of the late Richard Esser and Margarete Esser (nee Loos), and loving wife of 47 years to her late husband, Nicholas Manko (1991). Beloved mother of the late Nikolaus Manko and mother-in-law of the late James Waters. SURVIVORS: Children: Stephanie (Thomas) Dunion, Rosemary (James) Waters, Eva Manko, Christiane (Michael) Morgan, Monika (Zelko) Rehoric, and Gregory Manko. She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as her daughter-in-law, Sharon Manko. Memorial Mass: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at St. Francis de Sales Church 35 New Road, Aston, PA 19014 Burial: Private.
