On September 27, 2024, Ruth went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior, which at this time she will be reunited with her husband, Melvin Arthur Brandt, and her daughter, Evelynjeane Brandt Sutton, and what a reunion it will be. Ruth grew up and attended school in South West Philadelphia, where she proudly graduated from John Bartram High School. She was the daughter of the late Hugh Earl Drummond Sr. and Catherine Port Smith Drummond. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Hugh Earl Drummond Jr., and her sisters, Catherine Farrow and Jeane DiSalvo. Ruth was an extremely devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother who loved her family and served Our Lord, Jesus Christ. She leaves behind two sons and three daughters. Wayne Melvin Brandt (Kathy) of Woodlyn PA, Dale Arthur Brandt (Kimberly) of Vero Beach FL, Robyn Brandt Green (Robert) of Upper Chichester who she has resided with, Cheryl Ann Hamre (Walt) of Gainesville FL, and Kimberly Fay Holden (Peter) of Wilmington DE. She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life and Church Services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Brandywine Baptist Church. After church services, the burial will proceed to Lawn Croft Cemetery at 1000 W. Ridge Road, Linwood PA 19061.
