Ruth (Paddock) Minka, 95, passed away peacefully in her home in Brookhaven in the company of her children on Sunday, June 23rd. She was born in Plymouth, Pennsylvania on August 27, 1928. Her family moved to Chester and she graduated from Chester High School in 1944. Upon graduating she was employed by the Fidelity Bank in Chester. A conscientious and capable employee who loved her profession, she worked at Fidelity (later Wells Fargo, Media) until her retirement at 70 years of age. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Henry Minka. They married in St. Hedwig's Church in 1951. She was the devoted daughter of the late John and Helen Paddock of Brookhaven and the sister of the late John (Cora) Paddock and the late Roberta (Edward) Lajca. She is survived by her children, David (Yvon) Minka of Frenchtown, NJ and Denise (John) Ryan of Brookhaven with whom she resided and who lovingly cared for her. She is also survived by two aunts, Florence Wanko, age 99 and Bernadine Stroh, age 96 and a large group of nieces and nephews, whom she adored. She was a wonderful cook and hostess. She loved entertaining family and friends. Her holiday dinners were eagerly anticipated and greatly enjoyed. She also loved traveling and had a vibrant zest for life which she instilled in all who knew her. She was a past parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church, Eddystone and Our Lady of Charity, Brookhaven. She was active in many church and community activities. Visitation: 9:45 to 10:45 AM on Saturday, June 29th at St. John Chrysostom Church, 617 S.
