Ruth Ellen (Proksa) Fenstermacher, age 89, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2022 at her home in Garnet Valley. Ruth was raised in southwest Philadelphia and was a graduate of John Bartram High School class of 1951. Ruth continued her education at the Temple University Tyler School of Art where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Ruth worked in education and eventually retired as an art teacher from Benchmark School. Ruth enjoyed knitting and crocheting for charity, spending time with family and friends, cooking, ceramics, crafts, traveling the globe, including her favorites of cruising to Alaska, and vacations in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Ruth was also a longtime member of Mount Hope United Methodist Church in Aston, PA. She is the daughter of the late Anastasia and John Proksa and sister to the late Elizabeth Proksa. Survivors: Her loving husband of 63 years: Ronald R. Fenstermacher, her two daughters: Ellen R. Fenstermacher and Susan A. Fenstermacher Shanko (Charles) and her grandson Adam Shanko.
