Shirley (née Nagle) Crawford, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home in Saint Cloud, FL, on April 5, 2025. Born in Norwood, PA, in 1936, Shirley was raised in Norwood, PA and graduated from Glen-Nor High School, Class of 1954. That same year, in October, she married the love of her life, James "Jim" Crawford, Jr., and together they built a life together. Shirley and Jim settled in Rutledge, PA, where they lived for 40 years and raised their family. After retiring in 1992, they embraced a quieter life, splitting their time between Rising Sun, MD, and Saint Cloud, FL, over the past 30 years. Shirley held various roles throughout her life-working for the Pennsylvania Railroad, in the Swarthmore High School cafeteria, and at several Wawa stores. Above all, she was a dedicated homemaker who found joy in caring for her home and family. She loved babysitting her grandchildren as well as her niece and remained a steady, nurturing presence in their lives. She enjoyed relaxing with a good crossword puzzle, playing cards and dominoes, and spending time with loved ones. Shirley was a longtime member of Chambers Memorial Presbyterian Church in Rutledge, later attending Roseland United Methodist Church in Rising Sun and Saint Cloud Presbyterian Church in Florida. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim A. Crawford, Jr. (2022) with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. Additionally she is preceded in death by three siblings: Stanford Nagle, Jr., Claude Nagle, and Catherine Austin. Survivors: Her four children: James (Ruthanne), Karl (Susanne), Susan Bertino (Michael), and Thomas Crawford, one brother: John Nagle (Barbara), her sister-in-law: Mary Nagle, her brother-in-law: Bob Crawford as well as her three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
