Stanley J. "Stas" Lowry, age 80, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2022, at the Southeast Veterans Center in Spring City. Born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia, Stas was a 1960 graduate of West Catholic High School. Stas and his wife Carole lived in Southwest Philadelphia before moving to Delaware County and finally Chester County where they have lived for the past 7 years. Stas worked at General Electric in Philadelphia and then as a business manager for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for more than 20 years before retiring. Stas was very handy and there wasn't much that he couldn't make or fix. He enjoyed fishing, fly fishing, golfing, tennis, racquetball, entertaining friends, and eating hoagies. He was a loving husband, father, and Pop-Pop who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Stas was a former member of St. Mary of Czestochowa in Philadelphia, St. John Fisher Church in Boothwyn, and St. Thomas the Apostle in Glen Mills and proudly served the United States of America in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Kowalczyk Lowry and brother of the late Joseph Lowry. SURVIVORS: His beloved wife of 52 years Carole Hanejko Lowry, his children Susan Faux (Andrew), Karen Flynn (John), and David Lowry (Jen), his sister Loretta Murphy (Bill), and his grandchildren Samantha, Zack, Ryan, and Jaclyn.
