Stephen Del
Guercio
September 4, 1943 – July 25, 2020
Stephen (Steve) Del Guercio, 76, of Toms River, NJ, and formerly a 30-year resident of Darby, PA, died at home on July 25th, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Philadelphia, Steve grew up in the Overbrook section, and was a 1961 graduate of St. Thomas Moore High School. For most of his career he was an Industrial Engineer for PECO, Raytheon and United Engineers. He also served as a member of the Darby city council for many years. Steve called Toms River home for the past 20 years and was an active parishioner of St. Junipero Serra Parish in Seaside Park, New Jersey where he was an usher and greeter at the Sunday Family Mass and formerly served on the Pastoral Council. Steve was an avid traveler, music lover, and a devoted fan to his Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies and Eagles. Above all else, his real passion was his family and friends. He tirelessly sought to instill in his children to be hardworking yet have a zest for life and to always be committed to the ones you love.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Rose (Marinucci) and Romeo Del Guercio; brother: Alfonso (Al) Del Guercio; and his cherished and devoted wife of 35 years: Rosemarie (Tribuiani). He is also preceded in death by stepsons: Sean and Ryan McCurley.
SURVIVORS: His loving wife: Joyce (Callahan) Del Guercio; daughters: Stephanie Graham (Jeff) and Lauren Scouten (Dan); son: Stephen Del Guercio; and stepchildren: Scott McCurley (Lindsey), Casey Tripodi (Lorenzo) and William McCurley. He is also survived by his sister: Veronica (Ronnie) Marino. Steve was an adoring Pop-pop to his 12 grandchildren: Lexi, Tyler, Chelsea, Gianna, Gabby, Emma, Adrianna, Lia, Audrey, Sofia, Nate, and Logan.
Visitation: Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 pm with words of remembrence and music beginning at 7 pm and Friday, July 31, 2020 from 8:45-9:30 am at the Nolan Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA 19014. Eulogies will begin at 10:15 am followed by a Funeral Mass on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Church, 3255 Concord Rd., Aston, PA 19014. Burial: Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
