Stephen A. Maugeri died peacefully April 17, 2017 at his home in Garnet Valley, after a courageous battle with cancer. His wife Judi and sons Justin and Adam were by his side. Stephen was raised and educated in Philadelphia and resided in Garnet Valley for the past 23 years. He was a graduate of Bishop Neumann High School and earned his BA Degree from Cheyney University and his Master's Degree in Education from Temple University. Stephen continued his education earning a Master's Degree in Education Administration from Villanova University. He was retired from the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District, where he taught and inspired many students over the course of his career.  Stephen was also a court crier for the President Judge at the Media Court House, a member of the Bethel Township Sewer Authority, and a Lieutenant in the Delaware County Sheriff Reserve Unit. He had a black belt in Karate, enjoyed driving his Corvette, and vacationing at the beach.

Stephen was a loving husband, son, father, brother, and uncle who loved spending time with family, his 2 dogs, and his friends. Throughout his battle with cancer he remained upbeat and positive. To his credit he never let cancer rule his life. He strived to live his life to the fullest and he did that every day. Stephen had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. His favorite holidays were Halloween and Christmas and he decorated his house to the fullest! He loved that fact that people drove by to see his lights. In the summer, he loved working in his garden and sharing his veggies with everyone.

He was the son of the late Fredrick Maugeri.

SURVIVORS: His beloved wife of 28 years: Judith (Covert) Maugeri; 2 loving sons: Justin and Adam Maugeri; mother: Marie Filippone Maugeri; sister: Donna Palazzo (Mitchell); brother-in-law: John Covert (Ginny); nephew: Mitchell Palazzo (Kristen); nieces: Chelsea Palazzo, Elise Covert, and Sarah Covert; and great nephew: Mitchell John Palazzo.

VISITATION: Friday evening from 6-8:00 pm and Saturday morning from 10:00-10:45 am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, Ltd., 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home Ltd. BURIAL: PRIVATE.
