Teresa M.
(Darby) Steward
July 4, 1949 – May 21, 2025
Teresa M. Steward (Tess/Tessie) (nee Darby), age 75, of Aston, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, following a courageous two-year battle with brain cancer. Born on July 4, 1949, in Philadelphia, PA, Tess was a cherished daughter of the city, having been raised and educated in its vibrant neighborhoods. She attended St. Helena's Catholic School and proudly graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1967. Among her many accomplishments, she fondly recalled her time on the Drill Team during high school, which took her on unforgettable journeys across ten countries in Europe in 1966. Tess's heart knew no bounds, and for forty-five wonderful years, she shared her life with her beloved husband, Barry. Together, they cultivated a beautiful bond filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Tess was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. Her warmth and selflessness resonated deeply with those fortunate enough to know her. She had a passion for the beach, often taking vacations to the Outer Banks, NC, and Long Beach Island, NJ, and loved her family trips to Hershey Park. In quieter moments, Tess found joy in reading historical fiction and challenging herself with puzzles. Her Fourth of July birthday celebrations were a highlight of summer and will forever remain treasured memories among her loved ones. Tess M. Steward will be deeply missed by all, but her radiant smile and generous spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. In this time of sorrow, let us unite in remembrance of Teresa and the love she so freely gave. Tess was predeceased by her parents Gerard and Teresa Poysden Darby, her brother Joe Darby, and her brother-in-law Harry Grossman. SURVIVORS: Her beloved husband of 45 years Barry Steward, her children Stephanie, Jeffrey, and Suzanne Steward, her cherished grandchildren Damian and Grayson, her siblings Nancy Darby, Mary Darby, Bernie Strain (Vin), Jerry Darby (Susan Weiss), sister-in-law Barb Darby, and Frank Darby, sister-in-law Suzy Grossman, and dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.
