Teresa E. Shaeffer (Nee Ricci), age 95, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on July 15, 2023 at Twin Pines Health Care Center. Teresa was raised in Milmont Park, Ridley Township and attended Our Lady of Peace Parochial School and Notre Dame Catholic High School in Moylan. She had been a long-time resident of Chester before moving to West Grove with her daughter Terri and son-in-law Neil Coyne. Teresa enjoyed being the caregiver to her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. The legacy of Teresa's kind spirit, her passion for cooking and love of reading will live on through them. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, baking, going to the beach, Atlantic City Casinos, playing cards, bingo, and was a person of great faith and lived life serving others. She was a longtime member and selfless volunteer at St. Roberts Church in Chester. For the past 27 years her home church has been Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in West Grove. Teresa will be missed by all and never forgotten. Teresa was predeceased by her parents Pasquale and Erminia (Pincelli) Ricci, her husband Robert T. Shaeffer (2002) and her siblings Stephanie (Harp) Dougherty, Mary (James) Cocchi, Antoinette (Chuck) Poole, Edith (Bob) Casey and Pasquale R. Ricci Jr. (Eleanor). SURVIVORS: her beloved children Robert Shaeffer (Joan), Gary Shaeffer (Mary), Stephen Shaeffer (Barbara), Terri Coyne (Neil), and Mark Shaeffer (Denise), 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren with another on the way and many nieces and nephews that she cherished. VISITATION: Friday from 9:15am-10:45am at Assumption BVM Church, 290 State Road, West Grove, PA 19390. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am at the church. Burial St. Patrick's Cemetery 450 N. Union Street, Kennett Square. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Teresa's name may be made to Penn Medicine Hospice 150 Monument Rd STE 300, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004 or to St James Alumni Association at 1499 9th St, Crum Lynne, PA 19022.
