Obituary

Theodosia (Koula, Tina) Goudouvas, surrounded by love, passed away at home on Thursday, January 25, 2018. She was 75.

Our beloved Theodosia was born on July 1, 1942 in Karpathos, Greece where she spent most of her childhood years. She married the love of her life, George S. Goudouvas in 1969 and the couple moved to the United States in 1970. The couple settled in Silver Spring, Maryland where they raised their two children; Sotirios and Kleopatra. She spent more than 47 years in Maryland before relocating to Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania with her husband 10 months ago to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Theodosia was the beloved wife of George Goudouvas, devoted mother of Sotirios Goudouvas & his wife Abby, Kleopatra Dargakis & her husband Minas and loving Yia Yia to Sophia, Nicholas, Vasilios, Theodosia, and Christina. Theodosia was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a "Yia Yia" to her 5 grandchildren.

Theodosia was dedicated to her passion of teaching, and worked as a Greek language school teacher in the Greek Orthodox Community in the Maryland, DC Area for over 40 years. She also worked as a reading assistant in the Montgomery County School system for over 45 years before retiring in 2013. She loved holidays and family get-togethers; she coveted any chance to spend time with her family. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her company. Theodosia was an eternal optimist and shined like a bright light in her family and community. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
