Obituary

Theresa E. Fitzpatrick, age 90, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026. Her passing marks the end of a long life filled with faith, friendship, and a deep love for the people and communities that surrounded her.

Born, raised, and educated in the Nicetown neighborhood of Philadelphia, Theresa remained proud of her city roots throughout her life. She was a 1953 graduate of Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, where the values of faith, service, and lifelong friendships helped shape the woman she would become.

Family was the heart of Theresa's life, and she shared deep, loving bonds with each of them. She truly treasured the time they spent together, finding her greatest happiness in being surrounded by those she loved most. Family gatherings, holidays, birthdays, and celebrations were especially meaningful to her, and she delighted in the laughter, stories, and traditions that filled those moments. Even quiet visits and everyday conversations were cherished, as Theresa valued connection above all else.

Over the years, Theresa made her home in several close-knit communities, including Ridley Park, Glenolden, and West Chester, before eventually settling in Glen Mills. No matter where she lived, she had a gift for making connections and building lasting friendships. At Maris Grove, Theresa truly came into her own as a beloved presence among residents and staff alike. Known affectionately as a social butterfly, she was always on the go, actively involved in a wide variety of activities and gatherings. Her warm smile, engaging conversation, and genuine interest in others made her a cherished friend to many. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome and valued, and her absence will be deeply felt by those who shared in her daily life. A woman of strong and enduring faith, Theresa was a longtime and devoted member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Glen Mills. Her faith was a steady and guiding force throughout her life, offering comfort, strength, and purpose. Theresa will be remembered for her kindness, her sociable spirit, and her unwavering devotion to her faith and community.
