Thomas J. Dougherty, age 84, a longtime resident of Brookhaven, PA, passed away on October 7, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was raised and educated in Chester, and was a graduate of St. James Boy's High School class of 1956. Thomas retired in 1993 from Scott Paper Co., where he worked in the napkin Department for many years. He was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Charity Church in Brookhaven. Thomas had a passion for the outdoors; he was an avid bird watcher from his backyard, enjoyed hiding peanuts for the squirrels and had a deep love for dogs. He also was known for attending all and any local sporting events, whether for his children, grandchildren, or family friends Thomas was always there to root them on. He was many things to many people throughout his life: he was the loving son of the late John B. and Thelma (Abrams) Dougherty and brother of the late Dorothy "Dot" Kerrigan and Sue Giles. He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Diane (Pennewill) Dougherty, his 5 Children: Ronald, Michael, Judy Jones, Gary (Sinead), and Jennifer Cunrod (Steve), his sister: Ruth Scharf, his 10 grandchildren: Michael (Elizabeth), Erin, Tara (Thomas), Nicholas, Kasey, Leanna, Kayla, Olivia, Kieran, and Jacob, and 10 great grandchildren: Michael, Hayden, Claire, Vivian, Emma, Zoe, Matthew, Maddison, MacKenzie, and Carter, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: Tuesday, October 11, 2022, 6:30 PM- 8:30 PM and Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 10-10:45am at the Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave. Aston, PA 19014. Funeral Liturgy: Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 11:00am at Nolan-Fidale. Burial: Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
