Obituary

Thomas "Tom" N. Smith, age 70, died September 29, 2017 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington.  Tom was born in Chester, PA and a resident of Eddystone, PA for 21 years, and has lived in Wilmington, DE for the last 10 years.

Tom graduated from Chester High School in 1965. He was employed as a machinist for 33 years at Chalmers and Kubeck, INC, Aston. Tom proudly served during the Vietnam War as a soldier in the United States Army.

Tom was a member of the Sellers Senior Center, Wilmington. Tom loved to bowl, play card games, and was a diehard Washington Redskin fan. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather who never missed attending his grandkids' sporting events.

He was the son of the late Edgar and Dorothy Smith (nee Meehan), and brother of the late Patricia Jarvis and Edna Smith.

SURVIVORS:

His wife: Ellen Smith (nee Collins). His children: Thomas Smith, Brian Smith, Steven (Kristen) Smith, Lori Lynn (Jim) Lassiter. His siblings: Edward Smith, Sara Smith, Dorothea Brumbaugh, John Smith, Mary Fink, and  Marian Degenova. His grandchildren: Melissa, Andrew, Genevieve, Tyler, Nathaniel, Madison, and Mikayla.

VISITATION:  Friends may call on Wednesday from 10-11:45am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home Ltd., 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA.

Funeral Service: Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.

BURIAL:  Private
