Obituary

Thomas Dale "Tom" Blythe, age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 18, 2018 at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Born in Jersey City, NJ, Tom was raised and educated in Chester, PA and Eddystone, PA. After attending St. James High School for 3 years, he graduated from Eddystone High School in 1962. He and his wife, Anne, have lived in Chester Heights since 1982. Tom worked for the Scott Paper Co. for 15 years before his career as a Supervisor at Elwyn which lasted until his retirement in 2010. In Tom's younger years, he was an avid basketball and baseball player. In addition to going to Wawa for his morning coffee, newspaper, and scratch off tickets, he enjoyed gardening and vacations to Niagara Falls. Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. A United States Army Veteran during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Tom then served in the US Army Reserves 324th MEDSOM Chester for 15 years. In 1976, he was a member of the American Legion Post 546.

Tom was predeceased by his parents Thomas L. and Doris Jane (Downie) Blythe and his son Thomas D. Blythe (2005).

SURVIVORS: His beloved wife Anne Clevenger Blythe; his loving children, Laura Rosebrooks (Clay), Robert Blythe (Joanne), John Blythe (Samantha Culp), William Blythe, David Blythe (Amelia), and Bethanne Harris (Matthew); and his siblings, Rosemary Kleco, and David and Robert Blythe. He is survived by 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

VISITATION: Wednesday from 8:30-9:45 am at the Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave. Aston, PA. FUNERAL MASS will be at 10:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA. BURIAL will be immediately following in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Hemochromatosis Society, P.O. Box 950871, Lake Mary, Florida 32795-0871.
