Timothy P. Owens, age 68, passed away on February 1, 2026, at Lankenau Medical Center. Tim was born at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, and he was raised in Upper Darby, PA, before moving to Aston, PA, where he would attend St. Joseph Catholic Church with his family and go on to graduate from Sun Valley High School, Class of 1975.

Following his graduation Tim worked several construction jobs until finding his true calling when he joined Elwyn as a House Supervisor. Tim's experiences at Elwyn, caring for their clients, inspired him to pursue a career in patient care. That would lead him to Delaware County Community College where he would earn an Associate's Degree in Nursing. Over the years, Tim's kindness, compassion, and desire to help others shone through in his daily work as a nurse at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. His even keel, understanding of others, and dedication to ensuring his patient's dignity was a great help to his coworkers who always knew they could rely on him. Following years of on and off battles with Lupus, Tim would retire in 2024.

During his younger years, Tim was a great athlete, running cross country in high school and competing in multiple triathlons. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, and family trips to the Outer Banks. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan that always looked forward to rooting on the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James P. and Marilyn A. Owens, his sister-in-law Debbie Owens, nephew Stephen Sarnocinski, and his beloved cat of 18 years, Mr. Smalls.

Survivors: His Siblings: James M. Owens, Kevin Owens (Terry), Mary Beth Owens, Eileen M. Longsteath (Raymond), Brian J. Owens, Judith M. Sarnocinski, Jaqeueline A. Giacobbe (Dominic), and Colleen Carlin (Neil). Tim is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
