Victor Verticelli, 79 , of Upper Chichester, passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Nicola and Giusseppina Verticelli (DiSilvestri), Victor was born and raised in Chester before later moving to Linwood. Victor was a 1954 graduate of Chester High School and a 1958 graduate of The Pennsylvania Military College (PMC), which is now Widener University, receiving a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Infantry for 8 years during peacetime and was honorably discharged. Victor worked as an engineer for several United States Government Agencies including The National Park Service, Department of Defense, Dover Air Force Base, and The Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA) for almost 40 years. He also loved building homes for friends and was the owner and CEO of Verticelli Construction Corporation, a business he started to construct homes in the local area for others. Victor also loved winemaking in the fall, crabbing in Rehoboth Canal, Delaware, and relaxing down the shore with his family every summer. Victor is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dolores (Carbonara) as well as his son Nicholas, daughter Adeline, son-in-law Charles Schubert, grandson Nathan ("The Boo-Boo"), sisters Inez Hulkewicz, Eva Garzia, and Rose Hinckley, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He always had a smile for everyone he met and will always be in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either Disabled American Veterans (DAV), www.dav.org or the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
