Obituary

Vinnie Ivan Smith, age 89, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at his home in Folsom, PA. Vinnie was born in Nashua, NH and raised in Dixmont, ME, before settling in Marcus Hook, PA. He was a graduate of Eddystone High School, Class of 1954 and served his nation proudly as a member of the United States Army stationed in Germany. Prior to his retirement, Vinnie worked as a Systems Supervisor for Philadelphia Electric for 33 years. In his free time, Vinnie enjoyed golfing, gardening, and reading. He also had an interest in astronomy, science and history and liked to spend time in Buttonwood Beach, MD. Above all else, Vinnie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Morton, PA. Vinnie was the son of the late Albert and Violet Smith, the second oldest and last survivor of 6 siblings, and husband of 47 years to the late Mary Smith (2005). Survivors: Children: Lee Hunt (Bill) and Vincent Smith (Andrea), Grandchildren: Brandon Vincent Smith and Ashlee Oldfield, and Great Grandchild: Peyton Lee Oldfield. Visitation: Thursday, September 11, 2025, 10:00am-11:00am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA 19014. Funeral Service: Thrusday, September 11, 2025, at 11:00am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. Burial: Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
