Virginia "Jinny" Ershaw, age 82, passed away on August 23, 2025.
Born in Philadelphia and raised in Prospect Park, Jinny was a graduate of Notre Dame (Moylan) High School. She lived in Glenolden until 1984, then moved with her husband to Aston, and most recently to Boothwyn in 2008. Jinny devoted more than 20 years to the Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU) as a special education teacher, where her patience and warmth touched many lives.
She loved visiting family in Florida, taking trips to New England, and spending summer days at the beach in Avalon, NJ. A Disney enthusiast, she visited more than 20 times. Jinny was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Aston and, more recently, St. John Fisher Church in Boothwyn.
She was the daughter of the late William and Virginia (née Beckwith) Kenney, and mother of the late George J. Ershaw.
Survivors: Her loving husband of over 60 years, George G. Ershaw; her son, Billy Ershaw, her sister, Lynda (Jack); her niece and nephew, Bridget (Brian) and Byron (Dana); and her great-nieces, Coco, Sabine, and Astrid.
Visitation: Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at St. John Fisher Church,4225 Chichester Ave, Boothwyn, PA 19061.
Funeral Mass: Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Fisher Church.Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers: Donations may be made to The Elwyn Foundation .
