Obituary

Wanda Crossan, age 98, passed away peacefully at home in Aston, PA, on February 9, 2025 with her son and daughter-in-law at her bedside. Wanda was born and raised in Wilmington, DE, where she would spend the majority of her life before moving in with her son in recent months. She displayed a great work ethic early as she worked her way through high school so that she could attend and graduate from Ursuline Academy. Following her education she worked at Penn Fruit for 16 years where she was recognized as the "Checker of the Year" in 1960. She went on to work another 16 years at Shoprite. During her 32 year career she was known for her kindness and dedication to her customers. Her dedication was evident at home, taking care of her house while also being the primary caregiver for her husband who suffered with medical issues and later dementia. Wanda enjoyed family vacations at Wildwood Crest, working on puzzles and word searches and was frequently a winner at the Delaware Park slots. She loved animals and often spoke about her boxer, Lady. She was a big Eagles fan and hoped to cheer them on during the Superbowl. Above all else, Wanda was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, opening her heart to all but especially her grandsons. She was a longtime member of St. John's Catholic Church in Wilmington, DE. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Viola Decyk, her husband, Charles Crossan, Sr., her grandson, Chip Crossan, and her great granddaughter, Julie Crossan. She was also the sister of the late Cecilia, Lucille, Mickey, Walter, and Frieda. Survivors: Her Beloved Son: Charles J. Crossan, Jr. (Diane). Grandsons: Erik Crossan (Crystal) and Dave Crossan (Ashley). Great Grandchildren: James, Bella, Lexi, Scotty, Cheyanne, and Logan. Her former daughter-in-law: Linda Crossan.
