IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William Carter
Jannie
March 15, 1961 – September 2, 2025
William Carter Jannie Jr., age 64, passed away on September 2nd, 2025 surrounded by love with his family by his side. Bill was born in Pennsylvania and raised in Claymont, DE. He was a 1979 graduate of Claymont High School and became an apprentice welder alongside his Dad at Sun Shipbuilding & Drydock Co. of Chester, PA. Bill soon after attended R.E.T.S. Electronics School, where he earned highest honors of his class before beginning his near 40-year career in the electronics industry. Bill was a man of many hobbies and talents. He was able to fix anything he put his mind to and took great pride in being able to help his family and friends. He enjoyed watching his favorite teams win with his family, the Flyers, Phillies, and Eagles. Bill looked forward to going to airshows, his annual fishing trips with his Dad, and the summer family vacations to Red Horse Lake in Ontario, Canada and Cape May, NJ. He especially loved spending Sunday afternoons at Nan and Pop's in their backyard with his family. Above all, Bill was the best Dad, Brother, Poppy, and friend. Our Dad was and will always be the heart of our family. He is severely missed, and his memory will be cherished, always. He will remain deeply loved, and in our hearts forever.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, whom he loved dearly, Doris (Rink) Jannie and William Carter Jannie Sr. He is survived by his children William Carter Jannie III, Laura Jannie (Matthew), Dalton Jannie (Carrington), grandson Matthew Dillon III, and lifelong friend and former wife, Sandy Jannie. He is also survived by his sisters Karen Jannie Landau (Bob), Lorraine Jannie Maichle (Larry), Brenda Yoder (Dennis), Susanne Spiess (Brian) and nieces and nephew Sara, Parker, Heather, and Izzy.
