Obituary

William C. Lex, Jr., of Glen Mills, PA, passed away February 28, 2017. Beloved husband of Ethel (nee Lochner) Lex for 73 years. Loving father of Eugenia (Jean) (nee Lex) Murray (Edward-Bud), Fleming Island, FL and William C. Lex III (Jill), Aston, PA. Devoted grandfather of seven grandsons, one granddaughter, and fourteen great grandchildren, his family was the love of his life.

Born in Philadelphia, PA to William C. and Elizabeth (nee Edmonds) Lex, Bill was the eldest of ten children. He is survived by his sisters Elizabeth Boston, Lansdale, PA; Lorraine Moore, Lancaster, PA; Anna Miller, Clearwater, FL; and Clara Evans, Wichita Falls, TX; he was predeceased by his siblings Alma Vallieu, Blackwood, NJ; Robert Lex, Philadelphia, PA; Reba Norris, Mantua, NJ; Ned Lex Sr., New London, PA; and Daniel Lex Sr., Aston, PA.

Mr. Lex was the co-owner and founder, with brother Ned Lex, Sr., of Lex Electric Co., Inc., Media, PA.

Bill was a proud member of the US Marine Corps serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II on Guam, Okinawa, and Yokosuka, Japan for the surrender of the Japanese Navy. At Yokosuka, 120 liberated members of the "Old 4th" Marines were brought down from Yokohama to meet with the men of the "New 4th". The "New 4th" held a formal guard mount and presented their regimental colors to the men of the "Old 4th".

He was also a 50 year member of the Springfield, PA Masonic Lodge and Lulu Shrine.

Bill loved spending the summers fishing and boating in Mystic Island, NJ. He always had a smile on his face and was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him and was always surrounded by beautiful people. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends
