IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William E.
Locke
October 1, 1927 – December 17, 2019
William E. Locke, age 92, of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania and formerly of Folsom, Pennsylvania entered into eternal rest on December 17, 2019. "Bill" is now dancing in heaven with his beloved spouse, "Midge" to whom he was married for 49 years until she predeceased him in 2007. He missed her every single day that they were apart.
Bill was also predeceased by his parents and his four siblings. He is survived by his loving children and step children, Richard Misturak (Susan) of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, Kathleen Gingrich (Ronald) of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania and Jean Kline (Dwight) of White Haven, Pennsylvania, in addition to three grandchildren/step grandchildren and six great grandchildren/step grandchildren, as well as many nieces and other extended family members.
He worked for Sun Ship for many years, as well as at a Medical Center, and he proudly served his country in the United States Army, as a Military Policeman for two years.
Bill was a man of both principle and character-a humble man of few words, but when he spoke what he said was always profound. He caused you to want to listen to his words of wisdom because they were never extraneous or superfluous. Each word was poignant, meaningful and meant to pack a punch.
If something was broken, Bill could repair it. If something needed to be built, he could build it. He was a man of many skills.
Family was everything to him. He was always present, sure and steady, whenever anyone needed a helping hand or a word of encouragement. You never needed to seek him out because he was always exactly where you needed him to be- right beside you- slow, steady and comforting. His favorite phrase was, "slow down" and he was the epitome of that advice. Nothing was ever hurried with Bill.
Bill had elected to be cremated and wished his remains to be scattered. He expressly stated that he wanted no services of any kind and his family intends to honor his wishes.
So, to honor his memory, Bill's family asks only that you be kind, be helpful, be respectful, and live life simply and compassionately. If you care to make a donation in Bill's memory, select a charity of your choosing, or otherwise you may contribute to Residential Hospice at www.residentialhealthcaregroup.com, as the angels from Residential Hospice provided caring and compassionate care to Bill over his final days.
