Obituary

William J. "Skip" Kohl, Jr., age 87, a longtime resident of Concord Twp. passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Skip was born in Darby, PA, raised in Collingdale and graduated from St. James Boy's High School in Chester.

Throughout his life he was a responsible, hardworking, loyal employee. He spent most of his career in the labor industry working for Penn Steel, Linde Air, & Sun Ship. He also worked in the financial industry for Prudential Insurance Co., before ending his career in the transportation industry.

Skip was a loving husband of 60 years, and devoted father who was truly the epitome of a "family man"! He enjoyed having fun and always had a smile for everyone. He was always involved with his children's sports and activities; it may have been him coaching the kid's teams or helping with the boy scouts or watching his girl's ride horses but Skip was always there and involved. In his earlier years, he enjoyed horseback riding, playing softball in many leagues, and golfing. Skip was a volunteer Fireman with the Ogden Fire Co. and an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. Mr. Kohl was a longtime parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Glen Mills, PA.

He was the loving husband of the late: Anna Marie (McClaskey) Kohl, the son of the late: William J. and Philomena Heaney Kohl,grandfather of the late: Christopher Fritz, and brother of the late: Patricia Denver Needham, Bernadette Olley and Robert "Button" Kohl.

SURVIVORS: his 5 Children: Marianne Delano (Randy), Dianne Fritz (Vance), Teresa Dougherty (Dennis), William "Billy" Kohl (Milly), and Edward Kohl (the late Robert Quigley), sisters: Dolly McConaghy and Tina M. Rankin Pennewell (Harry), 9 grandchildren: George (Dana), Ashley (Keith), Vance (Tara), Joe (Stephanie), Dennis, Shannon (Billy), Joey, LeAnn (Cliff), and Billy (Brooke), 8 great grandchildren: Keith, Jr., Ava, Cora, Lennon, Hannah, Kane, Serenity, and Daniel.

Visitation: Friday, November 19, 2021 from 9:45-10:45am at St. Thomas The Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA. Funeral Mass: Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church.  Burial: Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
