William H. Zimmerman, age 82, of Aston, passed away July 10, 2017. He was born in Tamaqua, PA and was a 1952 graduate of Tamaqua Senior High School. Bill received his Diploma in Electrical Construction from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster, PA and his BS in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University. He retired from the General Electric Company after 38 years of service as a Senior Design Engineer in their High Voltage Power Circuit Division. Bill was a past Vice President for GE Philadelphia Works Rice Club, a senior member of the GE Elfun Society, and a life member of the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the IEEE Power Engineering Society, and the IEEE Consumer Electronics Society. He was a commissioned roller skating judge and tabulator. Bill's hobbies included model railroading, radio controlled planes and boats, computers, creating computer program simulations for steam engine trains, and travel and cruising.

He was the son of the late William S. and Matilda (Gerber) Zimmerman, loving husband of 60 years to the late Patricia (Fick) Zimmerman, and brother of the late Joan Zimmerman and Harry Zimmerman.

SURVIVORS: children: William J. Zimmerman and Beverly (Hansjuerg) Zimmerman; granddaughter: Julia LaRocco; sister: Nancy (Zimmerman) Springer (Charles); and sister-in-law: Dorothy (Pavlinski) Zimmerman.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Friday at 10:00 am at Philadelphia Memorial Park, 124 Phoenixville Pike, Frazer, PA 19355.
