Zaccaria J. DeSantis, also known as "Zac" and "Sonny", age 82, a resident of Grantville, PA, passed away on January 11, 2022. He had been a resident of Chester, PA, and Folsom, PA. and was a graduate of Ridley Township High School. After graduation from high school, Zac proudly served in the US Army and was deployed to Germany. Upon returning from serving in the army, Zac held various jobs, including working as a tree surgeon before finding his life passion in the horse racing industry. Zac was immersed in every aspect of racehorses - including the daily care, rehab, exercising, training, and ownership. Zac traveled throughout the United States and Canada pursuing his dream.  In most recent years, Penn National has been Zac's home track.  Zac was frequently working at Messner's Garage and was well known for his ability to repair anything mechanical - from vehicles, farm equipment to hot walking machines. Zac enjoyed attending auctions - searching for "deals" which he shared with family and friends. Zac will always be remembered for his willingness to help others and his kind, caring and generous nature.

Zac was the son of the late Rocco DeSantis and Maria (Amalfitano) DeSantis and brother of the late Louise Cappelli.
