In his spare time Clem enjoyed bowling and was a member of multiple different leagues, including one at Conchester Lanes. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis de Sales in Lenni and was a proud member of the American Legion Post No. 87.

Clem was the son of the late Walter and Mary (NEE Reilly) Thompson and was the loving husband to the late Elizabeth "Betty" (NEE Ennis) Thompson (2022) for 62 years. He was father to the late Lisa Faust (2010) and brother to the late Walter Thompson and Thelma Glackens.
