Edward J. Somers, Jr, age 87, passed away at his daughter's home on May 22,2022. Ed was raised and educated in Philadelphia, PA and Lindenwold, NJ during his youth before he graduated from West Philadelphia High School. After his marriage to Kathleen, he lived and raised his family in Sharon Hill, PA and was a parishoner of Holy Spirit Church. Ed was active with the Ramblers football association and fourth of July committee. Edward served his country proudly with the United States as a member of the United States Army. Edward was employed by the Chilton Company, the US Bank Note, and the Rose Tree School District. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, casino trips, going to the beach and traveling. He was a current parishioner of St. John Fisher Church in Boothwyn, PA.

He was the son of the late Edward J. Somers, Sr. and Helen Eleanor Harron, and loving husband of the late Kathleen M. (Abbott) Somers.

Survivors: His children Cheryl Somers-Cook (John Celona) and Edward Somers (Suzanne), his dear companion for more than 20 years Shirley Cornwell, his grandchildren Amanda Paul (Kevin), Maria Jeffkin (Nicholas), Megan Somers, Michaela Somers, and John Celona (Kelly) and his great grandchildren Logan Paul, Aiden Paul, and William Celona

Visitation: Saturday May 28th 2022 from 9:30am - 10:45am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave. Aston, PA. Funeral Service: Saturday May 28th 2022 at 11:00am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. Burial: Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers: Donations can be made in Ed's name to the wounded warrior project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org
