Geraldine C. May

Geraldine "Carol" (Jones) May ,age 91, a lifelong resident of Chester passed away at her home on May 6, 2022 with her family by her side. Carol graduated from Chester High School in 1949 and worked for Teledyne Wirz for many years. First and foremost, Carol was the backbone of the legendary May’s water ice and Christmas trees  in Chester, PA, where Carol was the instrumental person behind the scene doing anything and everything to make a successful business.  She was a longtime parishioner of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Chester.  

Carol was the daughter of the late Carl Sr. and Helen (Cummins) Jones, the wife of the late Samuel F. "Sonny" May, Sr. , mother of the late Kevin M. May, mother-in-law of the late Christine M. (Mumley) May, and sister of the late Paul W. Jones and his late wife Carmella "Millie" Jones).

She is survived by 3 Sons: Samuel F. May Jr. (Diana), John J. May (Peggy Donlevie),and Francis P. May, her brother: Carl Jones Jr., 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation: Saturday, May 14,2022 from 9:15-11:15 am at St. Katharine Drexel Church 1920 Providence Ave., Chester, PA 19013. Funeral Mass: Saturday at 11:30 am at St. Katharine Drexel Church. Burial: Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Carol May and Carl W.
