Obituary

Joseph L. Hearn, age 91, passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on October 30, 2024. Born and raised in Marcus Hook, PA. Joe attended Eddystone High School and continued his education at Pennsylvania Military College, Chester where he graduated in 1956. Joe has been a lifelong Delaware County resident and longtime resident of Upper Chichester. He was longtime employee of Phoenix Steel/Citi Steel where he was Vice President of Operations. Joe was an avid sports fan, he loved crossword puzzles, and working in the yard. He also enjoyed time with family in Slaughter Beach, Delaware. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Marcus Hook, Resurrection Church, Chester, and most recently St. John Fisher Church, Upper Chichester. Joe was predeceased by his parents Jack and Josephine Hearn, his brothers Jack and Robert Hearn, and his son-in-law Robert Haley (2021). SURVIVORS: His wife of 68 years, Dolores (DiCecco) Hearn, his children Mary Jo Kaczenski (Tony), Diana Hearn (Georgia), Denise Haley, and Brian Hearn (Trasi), grandchildren: JJ Kaczenski, Ryan Kaczenski, Callie Burke, Hannah Haley, Olivia Sotiropoulos, and Nathan Hearn, great-grandchildren Colton & Mason Burke and Alex Kaczenski. Joe is also survived by his sisters- in-law Joy Hearn & Lucy Hearn, and many nieces and nephews. VISITATION will be Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 10-11:00 am at the Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave, Aston. FUNERAL LITURGY: Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 11:00 am at the funeral home. BURIAL: Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
