Joseph E. (Smith) Smith

Joseph E. Smith, age 87, passed away on November 14, 2022 at Riddle Village in Media. Born, raised, and a lifelong resident of Aston, Joe was a 1948 graduate of St. Francis De Sales Parochial School in Lenni and a 1952 graduate of St. James High School, Chester. Joe enjoyed vacationing with his wife Shirley, gardening, bird watching, and wildlife. Joe also was an artist who loved to draw. Joe's grandchildren and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of Joe's life. The legacy of his kind spirit, love of gardening, and zest for life will live on through them. Joe worked for The Southco Inc. in Concordville for more than 23 years as a maintenance mechanic and was also a member of St. Francis De Sales Church, Lenni.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents John P. and Agnes Mary Scheivert Smith and his loving wife of 55 years Shirley A. (Carter) Smith (2008), brothers Jack, George, and Charles Smith and his daughter in law Debbie Pezzino Smith (2014).

Survivors: His loving children, Bonnie A. Soscia (Larry), Joseph E. Smith, Jr. (Diane), John A. Smith (Ana), and James Smith (Doris), 15 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.

VISITATION: Sunday afternoon November 20, 2022 from 3:00pm-5:00pm and Monday morning November 21, 2022 from 10:30-11:15am at the Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston.
FUNERAL LITURGY Monday November 21, 2022 at 11:30am at the funeral home.
BURIAL: Mount Hope Cemetery, Aston.
