Mariannina Cianci Obituary

Mariannina "Nina" Cianci (Nee Petrillo), passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on March 23, 2023 at Rosewood Gardens in Broomall, PA. Born and raised in Avellino, a province of Naples in the Southern region of Italy. Nina immigrated to the United States when she was 26 years old. She later became a US citizen in 1974. She began her life in the US in Philadelphia and then resided in Folsom, where she raised her family. Nina was a former member of Our Lady of Peace Church in Folsom, PA. She worked many jobs throughout her life. She was a seamstress by trade, a crossing guard, short order cook, and worked at Crozer Hospital from where she retired. Her favorite and most important job was raising her children and being a homemaker as well as a proud grandmother (Nanni) to her five grandchildren. Nina loved going to the beach in Ocean City, New Jersey, swimming at the YMCA, listening to Italian music, dancing, going to the Casino ('The Caseen') watching her soap operas (her stories), Dr. Phil (aka 'Uncle' Phil), and having Sunday Dinner with her family. Her motto was always 'It's better to laugh than cry.' She always had a positive attitude towards life, was completely selfless and always found a way to make people laugh.

Nina was predeceased by her parents Matteo Petrillo and Antoinette Sementa Petrillo, her loving husband Anthony Cianci (2017), her siblings Luigi Petrillo, Agnese Iasiello, Ezio Petrillo, Nunziatina "Tina" Costello, and Elio Petrillo.

She is survived by her beloved children Mina Fulton (Scott) and Amo Cianci (Amy), her cherished grandchildren Jennifer, Christopher, Joseph, Nina, and Anthony, and her siblings Carmelina Novak, Lina Pastore, Bruno Petrillo, Pia Scola and Claudia (Rita) Fabiani, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
