Mark D Furniss, Sr.

Mark D. Furniss, Sr., age 65, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2023 surrounded by family. He was raised in Brookhaven, PA and was a graduate of Sun Valley High School, class of 1975. He lived in Upland and Parkside before he found his permanent home in Aston, PA. Mark was an employee of Kimberly Clark (formerly Scott Paper) for 41 years before retiring. He was very proud of his heritage and family history from Smith Island and Crisfield, MD. Mark loved to be outdoors, embracing all facets of hunting, fishing, and crabbing. Everyone who knew Mark knew he loved Maryland blue crabs especially softshells and his soups. He made great efforts to ensure he had the greenest lawn in the neighborhood while he tended to his garden, pond, and pool. Mark enjoyed decorating his home red and green at Christmas, lighting off fireworks on the 4th of July and New Years Eve, entertaining friends at home and cheering on the Eagles. Above all else, Mark loved his family, his friends, and he had a special place in his heart for his beloved grandchildren.

He was the son of the late Oliver and Alice (nee Bradshaw) Furniss and brother to the late Howard "Tink" Furniss.

Survivors: His loving wife of 45 years: Laura Furniss, his children: Rebecca (Mark) Minchak, Mark (Jamie) Furniss Jr., and Matthew (Carly) Furniss, his sister: Francenia (Garry) Corsi and his grandchildren: Gabby, Alex, Zach, Ollie, Ben, Alice, and Adler.
