Mary M (LaSpada) Russo

Mary M. Russo, age 100, of Newark, DE, peacefully passed away on August 23, 2023. Mary was born and raised in Chester and attended Chester Schools, before moving to Claymont, Delaware to raise her family. She took great pride in working for the family business, LaSpada Original in Parkside. Mary was an active and devout member of Holy Rosary Parish and School in Claymont where she was past chairwoman of the Holy Rosary Carnival, and also worked in the school lunchroom. Her unwavering devotion to the Blessed Mother was evident in her daily practice of saying Rosaries for the protection of her family, as well as her tradition of sending flowers to the Blessed Mother at Church every Mother's Day.

Mary will always be remembered as a beloved mother, dedicated member of the community, and a passionate fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and watching Hallmark movies.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mario (1994); her sister, Sarah LaSpada Russo, Josephine Cacia, John LaSpada, Joseph LaSpada, Charles LaSpada and Steve LaSpada; and grandson, Michael Russo

Survivors: Son, Michael Russo (Michelle); granddaughter, Caitlyn Russo
Visitation: Thursday, August 31, 2023, 10:00 am - 11:15am at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 345 Bear Christiana Rd, Bear, DE 19701.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am.
Interment: Immediately following Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
