Richard J. Strohmetz

Richard J. Strohmetz, age 78, a resident of Fair Acres, passed away on August 23, 2023. Richard was raised in Havertown, PA, and was a graduate of Haverford High School. Following his graduation, Richard enlisted in the United States Navy and served his nation proudly during the Vietnam War. He went on to work at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. In his free time, Richard enjoyed riding motorcycles, going to the farmers market, and gardening. Richard had a special affection for all dogs. He was also an avid College Football fan, particularly of the Penn State Nittany Lions. 

Richard was the son of the late Albert H. and Margaret (Mulligan) Strohmetz, and brother of the late Albert H. Strohmetz, II.

Survivors: Sons: Richard L. Strohmetz, Michael Strohmetz (Tracy), and Luke Strohmetz. Grandchildren: Oliver White, Jacob Strohmetz, Sara Strohmetz, and Royal Marie Strohmetz. Sister: Carol Koons.

Richard’s sons would like to extend a special thank you to their cousin, Albert H. Strohmetz, III, for the help and care he provided their father in recent years.
