Susan Crowe

Susan Baca Crowe, age 77, passed away on October 18, 2023, at her home in Aston, PA. Susan was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, and graduated magna cum laude from Seton Hill University in 1969. Known as "Madame" to generations of students, Susan was a respected and beloved French teacher for almost four decades for the Garnet Valley School District before retiring in 2007. A devout Catholic, Susan was very active at her church, St. Thomas the Apostle in Glen Mills, PA. Susan enjoyed traveling, theatre, philanthropy, and acts of service. She loved spending time at the beach and particularly enjoyed visiting France.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Magdalene Baca. She is survived by her brother Eric J. Baca (Catherine), cherished nephew and niece Nicholas J. Baca (Dr. Molly Bruggeman) and Dr. Natalie Baca (Dr. Adam Enders), and her long-time spiritual partner and friend, Norman Koehler. Susan leaves a lasting legacy in the lives of the many, many students she taught throughout the years, all of whom she loved and supported as if they were her own children.

Visitation: Thursday, October 26, 2023, 4:00pm-8:00pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA 19014 and Friday, October 27, 2023, 9:30am-10:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Rd, Glen Mills, PA 19342. Funeral Mass: Friday, October 27, 2023, 10:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Burial: St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, Glen Mills, PA. 

The Funeral Mass will be available via live stream at https://staparishgm.org/live-stream-mass. The camera will be turned on approximately 5-10 minutes prior to the beginning of Mass at 10:30am.
